2. Description
 
Released on September 29, 1992, "Core" is the monumental debut studio album by Stone Temple Pilots. This album was a cornerstone of the early '90s alternative rock and grunge movement, peaking at #3 on the Billboard 200. It features some of the decade's most iconic tracks, including "Plush," "Creep," and "Wicked Garden."

This specific version is a First US Edition featuring the Specialty Records Corporation (SR) pressing and Atlantic’s proprietary Digalog technology. Digalog tapes were duplicated onto high-quality cobalt tape from a digital source, providing a significantly higher dynamic range and lower noise floor compared to standard high-speed analog duplications.

3. Condition

Case: Factory-sealed, never opened. Original clear case with some scuffing. There is a drill hole on spine. Features the original yellow hype sticker: "INCLUDES SEX TYPE THING". The "digalog / The Best Sound To Go" sticker is still intact.
Cassette Shell: Presumed MINT (unplayed).

TRUE FIRST EDITION: This is the original 1992 US release.
Hype Sticker: Highly desirable original yellow hype sticker is preserved on the front of the case.
Pressing Plant: "SR" on the shell confirms this was manufactured at the Specialty Records Corporation, known for high-quality media production.
Cut-out: The drill hole indicates this was originally a promotional copy or a retail "cut-out," a common practice for inventory management in the '90s.
