Above the Frame centers on the gesture of the upward gaze as an act of projection and expectation. The figure, isolated in a vibrant chromatic field, directs attention beyond the visible boundary of the work, activating a space that is not represented, but is constantly suggested.
The tight framing reinforces the tension between containment and openness: the body remains anchored, while the gaze searches for something that escapes the pictorial field. This shift of focus transforms the spectator into an accomplice of the absence, inviting them to mentally complete what is not shown.
Set in an urban, contemporary setting, the work reflects on the relationship between image, desire, and future projection, where meaning lies not only in what is visible, but above all in what remains beyond the frame.
