All automatic watches must be charged initially from the crown as well; wrist movement alone is not sufficient to maintain the required power reserve.

RULE FOR ALL WATCHES WITH DATE
To avoid possible damage to the movement, please do not set the date with the crown when the time is between 21:00 and 03:00. It is recommended to set the date with the crown when the time is between 03:05 and 20:55. (Some models have a screw-down crown; for settings you need to gently unscrew the crown counterclockwise. Do not forget to securely screw the crown back after adjusting the desired settings.)
