Description from the seller
This work challenges the boundaries of the genre, dragging a legendary creature out of its traditional war context to thrust it into a violent and primordial sporting competition, where brute force meets the millimeter precision of blades.
The work is the result of a sophisticated fusion between technological innovation and digital artistic sensibility. The creative process relied on a mixed technique that sees synergistic collaboration between artificial intelligence and refined tools of digital post-production.
The Creative Method:
Algorithmic Genesis: The structural and conceptual base was generated via Generative AI models, trained to fuse classic fantasy imagery (the warrior orc) with the brutal and dynamic aesthetics of ice hockey. The artificial intelligence allowed exploration of complex textures, such as the contrast between the shine of scratched ice and the opacity of mud and oxidized metal.
Development in Mixed Technique: Once the original matrix was obtained, the artist intervened with digital painting and photo-manipulation tools. This step was fundamental for:
Anatomical Correction and Detail: Refining the orc’s facial features to confer a more pronounced expressiveness and correcting the complexity of the hands and the grip on the stick.
Light Management: Emphasize the chiaroscuro coming from above, highlighting the claustrophobic atmosphere of the underground arena.
Advanced Texturing: The manual addition of specks of debris, dirt on armor, and dynamic reflections on the blades of the skates to increase the sense of material realism.
Color Grading: A final intervention on the color palette to unify the earth and stone tones with the cold of ice, creating a dramatic and coherent visual impact.
