Description from the seller

Up for auction is an antique full size master violin.
The label says: "Dominicus Montagnana sub sigurfuni Cremonae Venetiis 1723". Very beautiful in appearance. The violin is in good condition, professionally restored in our workshop, with some small old repaired cracks, grafted scroll, bushed peg-holes, new rosewood set up, new Luxe Aubert bridge and new strings. Very nice two pieces narrow flamed maple back with matched sides and scroll, high grained spruce top. Golden-brown-reddish varnish.
Length of back is 354 mm,
whole length is 584 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 200 mm. Full size.
Carefully set up by our restorers, this rare historic instrument keeps its beautiful sound. It has a mature, clear voice that sings with brightness and strength.

There are valuation certificates from our company available for extra charge

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind.
