ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The drawing was done from life on the etching varnish of the plate with the model posing live. The artist added the aquatint shading and background later, in the studio.

Jaelius Aguirre Madrid, 1956 As an artist he studied at the Art Student's League of New York between 1989 and 1992 where he received a scholarship for printmaking and an annual award for painting. He has more than 25 solo exhibitions of painting, engraving, drawing and sculpture, about 150 editions of graphic work and sculpture for public and private organizations as well as self-publications and numerous works in public and private collections. From 1989 on to now, concentrates on visual arts, working simultaneously both as an artist and as a curator for arts shows.
