Afghanistan origin; Ottoman period gunpowder horns and tools, 7-item lot with leather, wood, iron and copper components, dating to circa 1850–1900, approximately 19 cm by 15 cm by 5 cm, in fair condition with signs of use.

These unique Ottoman period gunpowder horns and tools were collected in the tribal regions of Afghanistan. They were carried alongside flintlock rifles by hunters and fighters through the passes of the Hindukush mountains.

The wood and leather containers still smell slightly of black gunpowder on the inside. These are structurally sound while showing signs of use. Approximatly 19 cm long x 15 cm wide and 18cm long x14 cm wide.

The copper flask is highly damaged. Please see pictures!
The copper and wood gunpowder measures are from the same time period.
The belt clip and half of a bullet mold are extras.


These items were collected in Afghanistan in the 1970's during a prolonged stay in the country.

Items will be sent with track and trace, insured up to 500 euros.
