Description from the seller
Fluorite on Barite – Okorusu Mine, Otjozondjupa Region, Namibia – 1.3 kg
A mineral specimen of high aesthetic quality from the famous Okorusu mine, one of the classical worldwide locations for fluorites in blue-gray hues.
The specimen presents an impressive three-dimensional aggregate of cubic fluorite crystals, translucent to semitranslucent, with a deep and uniform steel-blue tone. The crystals exhibit excellent geometric definition, well-preserved edges, and the characteristic stepped growth of the deposit.
The fluorite rests harmoniously on a light, tabular barite matrix, creating a very elegant color contrast between the cool blue of the cubes and the warm white-cream of the matrix — a combination highly prized in a display collection.
A well-balanced, substantial, and highly decorative piece with a striking visual presence, ideal for both systematic collection and display.
Characteristics:
• Locality: Okorusu Mine, Namibia
• Primary mineral: Fluorite
• Matrix: Barite
• Formation: cubic crystal aggregate on matrix
• Weight: 1.3 kg
• Aesthetic: display specimen
