Description from the seller
B&W DM1400
In nice condition
see photos for a good impression
A vintage HiFi collectors item set B&W (Bowers & Wilkins) type: DM-1400 top-class loudspeakers.
Made of walnut wood.
The DM-1400 is not often offered on Catawiki.
As successor to the DM-14, the DM-1400 comes with a strongly improved cabinet construction and thereby has almost paved the way for the subsequently introduced Matrix- and Nautilus-series. It also marks the transition from Domestic-Monitor to Digital-Monitor in the DM-series. The 3-way system speakers impress with a deep and super-tight bass. The lower woofer operates down to 500 Hz, the upper to 3000 Hz.
The only minuscule imperfection is that the small B&W logo on one of the two speakers came off during a move, and there is a very small hole in one of the front fabrics (which is hardly visible)
When shipping, the stands are packaged separately (3 packages in total)
Specifications
Year of manufacture: 1984
Impedance: 8 ohm
Minimum power: 30 watts; maximum: none (overload protection)
Sensitivity: 86 dB
Frequency range: 30 - 22,000 Hz (+/- 3 dB)
Dimensions with stand: 80 x 30 x 27 cm (Height x Width x Depth).
Height without stand: 54 cm
Weight: 19 kg
New price (Netherlands) in 1984: € 4000,-
