Description from the seller
A piece that immediately catches the eye — an authentic fragment of the Atacama Desert where Earth's chemistry painted the rock with colors impossible to imagine.
On a robust natural matrix, an intense carpet of turquoise to emerald-green hues develops, formed by a classic association of secondary copper minerals: atacamite and pseudomalaquite structure the main relief, while chrysocolla creates glossy, color-saturated zones, contrasting with delicate white wollastonite powders that look like mineral snow resting on oxidized copper.
The surface is extremely rich in detail — cavities, micro-reliefs and small natural geodes catch the light from multiple angles, producing depth and an almost pictorial aesthetic. Depending on the lighting, the piece alternates between deep ocean tones and lively green reflections, a very characteristic effect of the best Cerro Pintado (La Farola) occurrences, one of the historic localities of Chilean copper.
More than a simple scientific specimen, this is a piece with presence: voluminous, balanced and visually striking, ideal for both a mineralogical collection and for high-end decorative display.
Species: Atacamite, Pseudomalaquite, Chrysocolla, Wollastonite
Locality: Cerro Pintado – La Farola, Copiapó, Atacama Desert, Chile
Weight: 1.18 kg
A piece where nature, geology and aesthetics converge — impossible to ignore in a display cabinet.
