Description from the seller

Vintage Portuguese corkscrew in the form of a key, signed Baberitos (Lisbon).
Decorative figural corkscrews of this type were typically produced as souvenir barware pieces or export collectibles in the mid-20th century.

Key features

Shape: stylised skeleton key / door key form

Origin: Lisbon, Portugal (signed example)

Material: usually cast brass or bronze alloy

Function: corkscrew worm integrated into key shaft

Period: likely 1940s–1970s (common era for tourist/export barware)

Style: novelty souvenir / collectible bar tool

Key-shaped corkscrews became popular internationally from the 1920s onward and were widely produced as decorative gift items, often symbolising “the key to the cellar” or “the key to adulthood.”

Portuguese examples, especially marked Lisbon, appear less frequently than German or Austrian ones, which can make signed tourist pieces more desirable to collectors.
