TANEZROUFT 091 meteorite, a Mesosiderite from Adrar, Algeria, weighing 11.5 g, with a 2020 new classification.
Description from the seller
Nice piece of a metal-rock meteorite, Mesosiderite type, with good size and shape.
New classification 2020
We can observe the surface with the different olivines, metals and crust
The olivines are translucent to light
Mesosiderites are metal-rock meteorites formed by an impact, usually of a metallic body against a rocky body, so that after the impact the materials are mixed.
Some studies suggest that the impact occurred with the asteroid Vesta, from which the meteorites called "HED" (Howardites, Eucrites, Diogenites) originate
At Expometeoritos, we handle outreach, talks, workshops, analyses, classification and exhibitions of meteorites.
We are members of:
.- IMCA (International Meteorite Collectors Association) #8187
.- Meteoritical Society
.- American Meteor Society
All our pieces are certified and, in addition, we provide the chemical composition analysis if the piece’s value exceeds €300, performed at our facilities by X-ray Spectroscopy.
