History:

Excelsior was founded in New York in 1924 by Egisto and Roberto Pancotti, nephews of the first organ player from Macerata but long-time residents of Castelfidardo. They emigrated in 1920, initially finding work with Galizi, then moving on to work with Giulietti; on their initiative the Excelsior Manifacturing Company and Pancordion were born, which in the years between the wars joined Giulietti, managing to establish themselves in the major markets of the main American cities along the Atlantic coast. It established itself for the product quality, which soon became the most famous and most played by the leading American artists. The greatest success of Excelsior accordions came in the postwar period, when they became a “must” of every large orchestra: Charles Magnante, Art Van Damme, Pietro Deiro Jr., are among the most famous accordionists in history and play Excelsior.

In 1948, the Castelfidardo factory was built in Italy, starting serial production and export of Excelsior instruments worldwide.

Vollero leveraged his strong ties to the American market by importing a range of electric guitars under their brand. The Dyno is undoubtedly well-made and shows a certain originality in every detail. Practically all components are original. Its overall appearance is typical of the 1965-1968 generation, like the Galanti Grand Prix or Hagström H-II/III. But it did not achieve the same success and remained a rarity often unknown.
