Title: "Hidden Heat"
Description:
Beneath the white surface something glows. It is not an open flame, but a trace of embers – a memory of movement, of passion, of what once roared. The color underneath seems to breathe, as if it fights against being forgotten.
"Hidden Heat" tells of what is no longer visible, but still perceptible. Of the fire that no longer burns, but keeps the air warm. Of the attempt to lay calm over something wild – and the knowledge that it can never be fully tamed.
The painting appears still, almost composed, yet in the cracks, in the transitions between white, red and black, a bubbling energy that cannot be completely covered simmers. It is like a feeling you want to suppress, but that keeps working inside you – softly, patiently, unceasingly.
"Hidden Heat" is not stagnation. It is a pause in the moment before something flares up again.

The canvas is delivered rolled.
Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, mainly created with acrylic paints. Originally from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by their minimalist, abstract style and are crafted with high-quality materials to ensure vivid colors and longevity. In his art he frequently engages with themes of identity, memory, and the exploration of human emotions, often blurring the lines between the visible and the invisible.
Prein’s approach to art is multidimensional, combining painting with elements of sculpture and installation. This unique style has earned him recognition in Austria as well as internationally, with exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia. His works often invite the viewer to reflect on the complexities of the modern world and the deeper aspects of the human experience.
For a painting measuring 160 x 110 cm, a canvas frame of size 150 x 100 cm and a thickness of 2-4 cm is required.
You can either simply stretch the canvas yourself or have it stretched by an artisan or gallery owner.
This is a handmade original, which the artist has signed and dated on the back.
High-quality, lightfast acrylic paints were used on multiple coats of white primed gallery canvas.
A varnish was applied to protect the work.
This work is handmade and therefore unique!
--- Hand-signed certificate included ---
Beautify your private residence, law firm, practice, or office and upgrade your premises in an elegant and stylish way.
When a person ventures into his innermost depths, into a sphere that rarely comes to light, into a space that is mysterious and hidden, waiting to be discovered, tickled awake, and also painfully propped up, then art is born.
