Title: "Steps Without a Target"
Description:
Something moves through this image, without knowing where to go. The traces feel like footsteps that are laid down because standing still is not an option. They are uneven, sometimes heavy, sometimes almost hesitant. Each imprint bears the weight of a moment, not of a plan.
Between the dark densifications there remains a lot of space. Emptiness that breathes. It leaves room for doubt, for fatigue, for the quiet proceeding. Nothing here pushes toward arrival. It’s about the act of walking itself – about the human need to move forward, even when meaning is not yet graspable.
"Steps Without a Target" speaks of trust in the vague. Of the courage to leave traces, even if one does not know whether anyone will follow them. And perhaps there lies exactly in that a form of freedom.

The canvas will be delivered rolled.
Christoph Prein is an Austrian artist known for his abstract and contemporary works, mainly created with acrylic paints. Originally from St. Margarethen near Knittelfeld, Prein’s pieces are often characterized by their minimalist, abstract style and are carefully crafted from high-quality materials to ensure vivid colors and longevity. In his art, he frequently engages themes such as identity, memory, and the exploration of human emotions, often blurring the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
Prein’s approach to art is multidimensional, combining painting with elements of sculpture and installation. This unique style has earned him recognition both in Austria and internationally, with exhibitions across Europe, North America, and Asia. His works invite viewers to reflect on the complexities of the modern world and the deeper aspects of the human experience.
For a painting measuring 160 x 130 cm, you need a canvas frame sized 150 x 120 cm with a thickness of 2–4 cm.
You can either stretch the canvas yourself or have it stretched by an art handler or gallery.
This is a handmade original, signed by the artist on the back and dated for the year.
High-quality, light-fast acrylic paints were used on a gallery canvas that was primed multiple times with white.
A varnish was applied to protect the work as well.
This work is handmade and thus unique!
--- Certificate of authenticity included ---
Beautify your private home, law office, practice, or your office and enhance your spaces in an elegant and stylish way.
When a person ventures into their innermost depths, into a sphere that rarely comes to light, into a space that is mysterious and hidden, waiting to be discovered, tickled awake, and even provocatively uplifted, then art is born.
