Elegant Russian icon hand-painted on a gold-toned laminated wooden panel, depicting a Holy Bishop in solemn liturgical vestments. The saint is portrayed frontally, in accordance with Orthodox iconographic tradition, with a richly decorated episcopal mitre and pastoral staff in the right hand, symbol of his spiritual authority.

The work stands out for the refined execution of the details: the liturgical vestments feature precious gilded decorations and finely worked ornamental motifs, while the background is embellished with a delicate decorative pattern that recalls the tradition of the Russian iconographic schools of the nineteenth century.
