Karl Lagasse, a renowned artist, gained prominence in 2009 with his One Dollar sculptures, ranking among the top ten sculptors under 30 according to Artprice that same year. In 2012, the New York publication Farameh named him as one of the fifty best contemporary artists, inspired by traditional American icons, in its work FOR WHICH IT STANDS: Americana in Contemporary Art. More recently, in 2016, at the Art Paris Art Fair, the President of the French Republic warmly praised Karl for his impressive 2‑meter bronze sculpture One Dollar, exhibited at the Grand Palais.

Karl’s artistic journey began at age 7 with collages, spurred by his meeting with sculptor César Baldaccini. He later turned to tagging and graffiti in the Paris metro while remaining passionate about collages. Artist Yvaral Vasarely encouraged him to fuse his tags with his collages. In 2003, Karl prepared his first exhibition in Paris, which led to his first solo show in 2006 at Galerie Isy Brachot in Brussels. In 2008, he returned to Paris with an exhibition combining paintings, sculptures, and video elements at Espace Pierre Cardin.

2026:
- Finalization of the work One Dollar Green Bronze 8 meters, 7 tons. The largest One Dollar sculpture in the world by the artist.

2025:
- Installation of the monumental work Reflection of the Sun. Installed near the newly built Pavillon des Bains, on the Promenade Michel d’Ornano, inaugurated by mayor Philippe Augier on September 8.

2024:
- Art Miami – Group exhibitions Galerie Nicolas Auvray New York. For the occasion, a bronze cryptogram of 1.80 m and a 2-meter One Dollar sculpture were exhibited during the event.
- 50th anniversary of the Deauville American Film Festival; for the occasion, the artist created 18 bronze trophies as well as a 2-meter sculpture to be installed at the CID. Artists interviewed about the artist and receiving the trophy include: Michael Douglas, Daisy Ridley, Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Mikey Madison, and more...

2023:
- Aspen Saint Regis: Installation of the 2-meter One Dollar sculpture in front of the St. Regis. The Aspen Times covered the event in a dedicated article.
- Rapper Rick Ross posed with a special St. Regis edition One Dollar.

2022:
- New York: Times Square, NY City, projection on Nasdaq screen of the work “A One Dollar in the Cyberspace City.”

2021:

2018:

2017:
- Karl Lagasse succeeds the prestigious Cartier House in creating the trophies for the Deauville American Film Festival.

2016:
- Art Fair Paris at Grand Palais
- A two-meter-tall “One Dollar,” fully bronze, was exhibited at Art Paris fair.
- The French president visited the exhibition and personally congratulated the artist for his work.
- First in Spain at Atrium Gallery in Marbella, solo show with new collections in the presence of the international press and the mayor of the city, Jose Bernal Gutierrez. Special performance by his wife, opera singer Cherise Lagasse, who performed pieces from her repertoire.

2015:
- Second collaboration with Maserati, creating a monumental installation entitled “A Piece of Heaven on Earth.” This work features a Maserati draped with white plastic film and a sculpture of Jesus Christ. Around the car, several dollar bills sculptures are placed on the ground, symbolizing the repayment of humanity’s largest debt.

2014:
- Maserati presents worldwide the Maserati Ghibli reimagined by Karl Lagasse for the brand’s 100th anniversary.
- Solo exhibition at the Italian Embassy in Paris. The Italian ambassador in France hosted a dinner in his presence, surrounding the artist’s works.

2013:
- Collective exhibition Automobile Club de France, Place de la Concorde, Paris.

2012:
- Karl donated to the city of Deauville a Crytogram One bronze sculpture, permanently at the city entrance.
- For the 65th Cannes Film Festival, Karl created a sculpture “Building” composed of a collage of photos retracing the festival’s history.
