Description from the seller

A beautiful dry compass hanging in a Cardan ring in a distinctive display cabinet.
This display cabinet has 2 windows so you can read the compass from multiple sides.
Fitted with oil lamps on two sides. Also a battery-powered light so it can be lit without the oil lamp (see photos with the illumination on).
The function is still excellent, but it is primarily a beautiful decorative maritime compass.
Likely a replica of a Plath compass. An expert will undoubtedly know.
A very large number of photos have been added so the condition of the compass and housing can be assessed well.
Photos are part of the description.

The compass will be very well packed, insured and sent by registered mail with a tracking code.
See my other lots and possibly save on shipping costs.
Not shipped to the United States.

Seller's Story

,We specialize in antique maritime objects. But also more recent maritime objects, old measuring devices and other curiosities. The customer comes first with us. We try to handle everything as well as possible and to take care of the shipment in a very good way. If the buyer is not satisfied, we always come to a solution together. See our reviews for confirmation. We appreciate personal contact, even if there are complaints. If several lots are purchased in the same auction, we will calculate the cheapest shipping costs based on registered shipping. Shipping costs that are too much collected by Catawiki will be reimbursed to you afterwards
