Description from the seller
Ashtray in glass – Deep blue – Submerged glass
The object presents a faceted polygonal form, almost sculptural, which evokes the cut of a precious stone. The multiple facets catch and reflect light, creating chromatic plays that range between cobalt blue, electric blue, and purplish reflections. The central, carved and deep heart enhances the three-dimensionality and the perception of mass of the glass.
The submerged technique – with layers of glass stacked and immersed into one another – gives depth and chromatic vibration typical of Murano production from the 1950s–70s.
Dimensions
Diameter: about 16 cm
Height: about 8 cm
This is a piece of substantial size, heavy and massive, with a remarkable stage presence.
Conditions
Good overall condition.
There is a small internal edge chip (chip) visible in the photo, positioned inside the cavity. Minor defect that does not compromise the aesthetics or the structure of the object, and does not undermine its overall charm.
stylistic attribution
In the style of Flavio Poli, master of submerged glass, known for his geometric and chromatically layered creations.
Production attributable to the Murano milieu, second half of the 20th century.
