Description from the seller
Stunning turquoise glazed antique pot with a narrow neck, standing on a round foot.
These kinds of pots were made in the Middle Ages with the best technology available at the time. The clay was collected and then purified using three different methods to refine it. Afterwards the pot was allowed to dry and decorated. The item was coated with glaze and then fired a second time, without making even a small flaw.
The earthenware is about 800 years old and has a few small cracks and glaze and rim damage, consistent with the age of the piece. The item is otherwise in very good condition. See the photos for a good quality impression of the item.
Beautiful collectible.
Dimensions: 46 x 54 mm
Weight: 64.60 g
Provenance:
In February 2023 bought at a Dutch art and antique auction, auction house P, lot number 3579. Earlier provenance: from an old Dutch collection.
Important information. The seller guarantees that he has the right to sell/export this lot. The seller will arrange any necessary permits, such as an export license. Note: applying for an export license can take up to 8 weeks, please take this into account when bidding. The seller will inform the buyer if this takes longer than a few days. Any permit and import costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
