Berthold Konrad Hermann Albert Speer (Mannheim, 19 March 1905 - London, 1 September 1981) was a German architect and politician as well as one of the most powerful men in the Third Reich. He befriended the NS dictator Adolf Hitler through their shared interest in architecture. Speer is also known as the "Architect of the Third Reich" and was one of the leaders of National Socialist Germany. He had six children, one of whom was Albert Speer Jr. (born 1934), who followed in his father's footsteps and also became a celebrated architect. [Wikipedia]
