Description from the seller
Wonderful analog Rolleiflex camera, one of the first bilingual (twin-lens) with a light meter. The camera is covered in black faux leather.
Origin: Germany
Materials: Metal, aluminum, optics, inserts in black vinyl-leather, neck strap present but not original, does not have a case.
Operation: Manual camera
Functions: Collecting, design object, use
Dimensions: about 14.5 x 10 x 10.5 cm
Weight: about 1 kg
Condition: The camera is used, shows signs of age and use; its condition is visible in the attached photos. The movement of the light meter is smooth but there is wear on the numbering of the dial (see photo). I am not an expert; I have not tested it but it is functioning in all parts. Poor condition overall; the lenses are in excellent condition, but there is widespread oxidation due to time, without the original case. Everything is visible in the photos attached to the listing.
Notes: A quality object of remarkable beauty; collectors and enthusiasts, don’t miss it!!
Rolleiflex Compur camera with serial number 427703. Upper Compur optics Heidoscop-Anastigmat 1:3.1 f=7.5 cm serial 423644, lower Tessar 1:3.5 f=7.5 cm Carl Zeiss Jena serial 1742093.
The name Rolleiflex is commonly used to refer to the line of German twin-lens reflex cameras distributed since January 1929 by the company Franke & Heidecke, later Rollei. For decades there was also a line aimed at amateur photographers, the Rolleicord.
The idea of Rolleiflex was born from Paul Franke and Reinhold Heidecke, former employees of Voigtländer. The two interpreted the market demand for a camera equipped with two lenses, one for taking the photograph and the other for composing the frame to avoid continual switching between ground glass and the back plate.
Sold as an exhibition camera; with further cleaning after careful inspection, it might still function. A collectible piece not to be missed.
