Two large laboratory glass balloons with drain taps, made of thick-walled clear glass from Germany, in good used condition with minor aging signs, dating from 1950–1960, each 33 cm high and 16 cm in width, depth and diameter, in Industrial Design style with the title history
Description from the seller
Two large laboratory glass balloons with drain valves – ca. 1950–1970
For sale is a lot consisting of two large historical laboratory or apothecary glass balloons with original drain mechanisms.
The vessels are made of thick-walled clear glass and each features a side glass outlet. The handwritten original labels (“HNO3 acid” and “Na2S2O3”) are still present and show age-related patina.
These are former chemical containers from a lab or pharmacy stock, presumably from the mid-20th century (approx. 1950–1970).
Condition
• Glass without cracks or breaks
• Signs of age and use
• Labels with patina
• Valves have not been tested for tightness due to aging
• Left uncleaned
Important notes:
• The drain valves were only lightly engaged for the photography.
• For safe transport, the valves will be dismantled separately and carefully packaged individually for shipment.
• Please note: The valves already show damage, as clearly visible in the pictures.
