Description from the seller
Title: “A Little Bit of Circus II” (2021)
Original, unique work.
Mixed media (acrylic, spray, marker, ink) on canvas.
Format: 73 x 50 cm.
Year: 2021.
In "A Little Bit of Circus II", Rafa López revisits one of the richest and most suggestive themes in art history: the world of show business and the circus. Under his personal vision, this stage becomes a metaphor for life itself, a space where surprise, balance and the grotesque coexist in an incessant visual dance.
Analysis of the work:
The composition is a vibrant display of Pop Surrealism and Neo-expressionism. In this piece, the artist uses circus iconography to build a fragmented narrative. Between energetic strokes and color splashes, elements evoke the tent, movement, and the duality between the joy and melancholy inherent to show business.
Technically, the work stands out for its gestural dynamism. Rafa López uses spray to generate backgrounds with depth and atmosphere, while the marker and acrylic define characters and shapes that seem to be in perpetual motion. The color palette, full of contrasts, reinforces that sense of "function" and spectacle that captures the viewer's attention from the first moment.
Logistics and shipping:
The work is delivered unstretched (professional packing, rolled in a high-strength transport tube). This method guarantees the painting's safety during international transit and makes it easy for your local framer to mount it on a custom wooden stretcher.
The canvas features additional painted margins so that the image continues onto the sides of the stretcher after mounting, ensuring an impeccable aesthetic presentation.
Hand-signed on the lower left edge and on the back. Includes a certificate of authenticity from the artist.
About the artist:
Rafa López (Spain) is a visual artist with a solid national and international trajectory. Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Seville.
