Description from the seller
A0000002001
An exemplar in very good overall condition, preserving the sober aesthetics and the distinctive character of Waterman vest pocket pens from the early 20th century.
The body and cap in black ebonite present a uniform and deep tone, with a natural satin sheen appropriate to its age. Small superficial signs of use and light marks consistent with the passage of time are visible only under direct light and upon close inspection. No structural cracks, fissures, or deformations are observed. The threads retain a good fit and allow a firm and secure closure.
The original Waterman’s Ideal nib in solid 14K gold is complete and well aligned. The engraving remains clearly legible. It shows a natural patina and light superficial marks consistent with its age, with no material loss or aggressive interventions. The heart-shaped breather remains well defined. The black ebonite feed remains correctly positioned and seated.
The eyedropper system is intact, with a clean and functional interior. No alterations to the inner threads or visible repairs are observed.
Overall, this is an authentic and honest piece, with light wear appropriate for more than a century of age, without invasive restorations and preserving its original character.
Pen ready for collection or careful use.
It will be sent in a courtesy box for proper preservation.
Happy bidding!
