Michael Graves’ iconic design for Alessi, for use on the stovetop. Stainless steel with a light blue handle and a red bird whistle in ABS. This was the first product by an American designer to be included in the Alessi catalog. It opened the way for the playful design style that later characterized the 1990s, and thanks to an inspired mix of postmodern and pop idioms, it has grown into one of the internationally recognized icons of the eighties. A bestseller at Alessi since 1985, this is actually the product with the largest number of units sold in the company’s history.

Born in Indianapolis, he was a professor of architecture at Princeton since 1962.
