Description from the seller
Miodrag Djuric (aka DADO) 1933-2010. New Year’s Eve/holiday figure, 1973, drypoint. Alain Controu, printer.
Original engraving, hand-numbered bottom left 20/33, signed by the artist’s hand at bottom right Dado 73
Dimensions of the work: 30 x 40 cm
Frame dimensions: 53 x 68 cm
Weight: about 8 kg
Very good condition (the photos are a bit too dark compared to the reality of the engraving, which is very clean and delicate).
New framing done by a professional
The work is reproduced on the artist’s website (see last photo)
A beautiful piece for an informed collector
Cash on pickup possible in Paris or the Île-de-France region, otherwise secured/shielded shipping
The protean body of work by Dado, though above all that of a painter and draftsman, is also that of a prolific engraver. The 70s are particularly formative for the great engraver that Dado is. His collaboration with Alain Controu, printer (1946-2023) remains remarkable.
The Centre Pompidou holds a substantial collection thanks to the various donations of Daniel Cordier, great dealer and collector, admirer of Dado
