Armando (really Herman Dirk van Dodeweerd; born 18 September 1929 in Amsterdam; died 1 July 2018 in Potsdam) was a significant Dutch contemporary artist.

The work comes from his final period of creation. It was never hung and had been stored for years in an artist's portfolio. The condition is flawless. The publisher's stamp is on the paper (dry).

The present exemplar is an artist's proof outside the trade ("e.a.") from the Verlag Galerie F edition. Exemplar specimens with the e.a designation exist in far smaller numbers and appear—in this case as well—after the artist’s death and are often traded by collectors at a higher price than the usual editions.
