Antique Empire-style Libreria a Giorno dating to the early 20th century, made of mahogany, with dimensions 154 cm high, 85 cm wide and 41 cm deep.
Description from the seller
Antique Empire-style open shelf bookcase in Walnut burl and Thuja burl.
A refined, Empire-styled display shelf dating to the early 20th century, crafted with precious veneers in walnut burl and thuja burl. The architectural structure rises vertically with sober, balanced lines, punctuated by four cylindrical-section frontal columns, adorned with finely chased gilt bronze capitals, a clear homage to Neoclassical aesthetics.
The central body houses three open shelves, in addition to the base, ideal for books or decorative objects. The upper cap presents a moulded frame with a wide burl-panelled band, which gives movement and depth to the piece. The base is solid and well-proportioned, with feet enriched by bronze elements. The surfaces show a warm amber tone, with lively and dense grain typical of the woods used.
An elegant and imposing piece, perfect for studies, libraries, or classical interiors, expression of the quality and formal rigor of early 20th-century cabinetmaking inspired by the Empire style.
