Pitched as a petrol salon lamp from the Napoleonic III / early Third Republic period (late 19th century, ca. 1880–1900), it features a silver-plated and brass rocaille tripod base with a satin blown glass reservoir, measures 52 cm high by 16 cm wide, is not electrified and is in good condition, in working order.

Large living-room oil lamp - Napoleonic III era / early Third Republic - France, late 19th century (around 1880-1900).
Impressive antique oil lamp resting on an elegant Rococo-style tripod foot in silver-plated metal, typical of French decorative production of the late 19th century.
The reservoir is made of satin blown glass, richly hand-decorated with enameled floral motifs. The mount is brass with a flat-wick burner and an original pierced gallery.
The lamp retains its antique glass chimney engraved "Fabrication Française - Marque Déposée - VP - 14'''", corresponding to the standard 14-line size, perfectly coherent with the period.
The whole is entirely original and has not been electrified.
