Description from the seller
Brutalist Copper Hammered Pendant Light – E.S. Horn Aalestrup, Denmark, 1950–60
Elegant Scandinavian brutalist copper hammered by hand, produced by E.S. Horn Aalestrup, Denmark, in the 1950s–60s.
This luminaire presents a clean conical shape, characteristic of Nordic design of the era, elevated by a copper surface worked with a hammer. The manual hammering gives the piece a vibrant, irregular texture, catching the light with subtlety and reinforcing its artisanal character.
Through its formal simplicity, material authenticity, and natural patina, this pendant fully embodies Brutalist aesthetics, with contemporary affinities to the spirit of Wabi-Sabi.
Danish-origin manufacture, with its matching copper ceiling canopy.
Condition: good overall. The copper shows a beautiful era-appropriate patina, uniform across. It can be polished if preferred, but the current patina greatly contributes to its character and authenticity.
A decorative and sculptural piece, ideal for a brutalist, modernist, or minimalist interior.
