Description from the seller

Pair of brutalist candle holders in solid clear glass – Göran Wärff for Kosta Boda, Sweden, 1970s

Pair of clear solid glass candle holders designed by Göran Wärff for Kosta Boda, Sweden, in the 1970s.

Each piece features a compact, dense volume of thick glass, from which sculptural vertical forms emerge to frame the candle.

The colourless glass, worked in heavy thickness, captures light and produces subtle internal reflections. When the candle is lit, the material diffuses a soft, deep light, highlighting the volumes and the play of transparency.

With their monolithic presence and expressive geometry, these candle holders belong to an aesthetic at the crossroads of Brutalism and the Scandinavian Space Age of the 1970s.

Suitable for tea-light candles or round candles of approximately 4 cm in diameter.

Condition: very good vintage condition, with no chips or cracks.

Dimensions:
Height: 10 cm
Diameter: 8.5 cm

A sculptural and decorative pair, representative of Swedish glass design in the 1970s.
