Description from the seller

Rare metal badge with fired enamels from the Winter Olympic Games of 1944 that were to be held in Cortina in 1944 (the venue chosen in 1939) and never held because Italy and the world were at war. Nevertheless, several preparations were made up to 1941 (because Italy hoped and was convinced the war would end) by studying and setting up slopes, materials, organizing Olympic villages, etc. etc. all these studies, preparations, and setups were not at all used because they served for the Olympics held in Cortina in 1956.
Excellent condition of the badge (as in the photo). Producer F.lli Lorioli Milano (flat back signed as in the photo).
Dimensions: diameter 2.8 cm.
Low starting price.
Original antique piece.
Fast and highly protected shipping.
