1 double-page folio, recto-verso, of a Persian/Mughal Qur’an manuscript (Safavid), Circa 1600–1650 – illuminated with gold, saved from an ancient fire.
Qur’an manuscript – Persia / Mughal India (Safavid) – Circa 1600–1650
Rare, richly decorated ensemble.
1 double folio manuscript, recto-verso, with text in Naskh script.
Historical provenance, manuscript saved from a fire, authentic heat marks.
This manuscript bears all the characteristics of late Safavid (Isfahan) or Mughal (Lahore/Delhi) productions in the 17th century.
Rag paper, vellum-like softness, carefully gilded.
Black and red ink.
Golden rosettes marking the verses.
Gold borders with narrow black borders.
Estimated dating: circa 1600–1650.
Elegant and regular Persian Naskh script, 11 to 13 lines per page. Fine gold framing.
Symmetrical composition characteristic of luxury Safavid and Mughal Qur’ans.
This is the most significant element of the manuscript.

This set comes from a Qur’an wholly saved from an ancient fire.
Visible traces, borders browned by heat. Discolorations and soot. Ink sometimes blisters. Pages well preserved. Despite alterations, the vast majority of the text remains legible and the whole retains strong historical and artistic value.

Visible traces, heated paper, browned borders, water halos corroborate this event. Fragmentary manuscript, significant wear, paper deterioration (burns, humidity, gaps). Genuine ancient manuscript, manually decorated in gold.
Support: smooth rag paper, handmade.
Polished surface, likely burnished with a agate stone.
