Description from the seller
The Heartfield Elan is a high-quality electric guitar from Japan, produced by Fender from 1989 to 1993 as part of the Heartfield model range. These guitars were manufactured in the renowned Fujigen Gakki factory in Japan, where also high-end Ibanez models are produced. The Heartfield Elan is known for its very good craftsmanship and excellent playability.
Technically, the Elan typically features a body and neck made of Honduran Mahogany with a bound, flamed AAA-grade maple top. It is a solid-body model with various configurations, including humbucker pickups, often with Duncan-Designed or DiMarzio pickups, and American Standard tremolo systems. The neck profile is usually very slim and comfortable, which facilitates fast playing. Some models have a set-neck or bolt-on neck, depending on the construction across the various Fujigen plants.
The Heartfield brand should be seen as a high-end sub-brand of Fender, aimed more at the Japanese market, with limited production and a focus on innovation. The Elan models are today coveted collector’s pieces due to their sound quality, high-quality construction, and scarce availability.
