Description from the seller
From a private collection offered:
The legendary Asahi Pentax Super-Multi-Coated Macro lens 1:4/50.
Originally intended for Asahi Pentax SLRs with M42 screw mount, but usable on many other modern cameras with adapters.
The lens has hardly been used and is in mint condition.
The focus ring turns smoothly and with no play.
The aperture works flawlessly.
Lens in optimal condition.
Lens caps included.
The Super-Multi-Coated (SMC) Macro-Takumar 1:4/50 is a high-quality vintage macro lens from Asahi Pentax with an M42 screw mount, produced in the early 1970s. The lens is known for its exceptional build quality and "biting" sharpness.
Key Specifications:
Focal length: 50mm. (Thus also usable as a standard lens)
Maximum aperture: f/4.
Optical Design: A classic Tessar design with 4 elements in 3 groups.
Magnification: The SMC version typically offers 1:2 magnification. The earlier rare "preset" version could reach 1:1 without extension rings.
Coating: Equipped with Pentax's famous Super-Multi-Coating, which provides excellent contrast and minimal lens flare.
Filter size: 49mm.
Features & Use
Sharpness: Even at f/4 the lens is extremely sharp, making it ideal for both macro photography and general use as a "walk-around" lens.
Build: Fully metal construction with a silky-smooth focus ring that has a long throw for very precise focusing.
Modern Use: Very popular for adapting to modern mirrorless cameras (Sony, Fujifilm, Canon) due to its compact size and optical quality.
Dimensions: 7 x 6 cm
Weight: 252 grams.
The lens is carefully packaged, insured, registered and traceable shipment.
