Anton Heyboer, Untitled, an etching from 1980–1990, original edition, signed, in good condition, made in the Netherlands, framed, 35 cm high by 41 cm wide.
Description from the seller
Anton Heyboer’s etchings are often simple and direct, with rough, sketchy lines and strong contrasts. He works quickly and intuitively, with the graphic character of scratches and incisions still visible. As a result, his houses acquire more of an emotional, symbolic meaning rather than a realistic portrayal.
Anton Heyboer (1924-2005)
Because of his unusual lifestyle, Anton Heyboer belonged to the most eccentric Dutch artists of the past decades. His turbulent life expressed itself in five marriages. He also described himself as 'the Robin Hood of the art world', referring to his high artistic output. Heyboer was trained as a mechanical engineer. After World War II he began drawing, albeit still in a traditional style. Between 1954 and 1957 he developed his own philosophical framework on the basis of which his abstract works arose. Yet there are always figurative elements present in his paintings and etchings. He also clarified the themes of his work with texts, in which human relationships often play a role.
Dimensions of work without frame: 38 x 30 cm
Framed work.
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house framers, who are celebrating their 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
