Rice-grain porcelain is a type of Chinese porcelain with translucent, rice-grain-shaped holes in the rim. These holes are punched in the unfired clay and filled with a transparent glaze, which becomes translucent after firing and lets light through.

This technique was widely used in China from the 18th century and became popular in the 20th century.
