A bowl or desk organizer from the 1930s, made of French marble and bronze. It is a wonderful work of art in bronze and polished marble. Originally it was most likely used to store business cards and small items on a desk. This item is not related to tobacco smoking, as it has no cigarette rests. It is stunning and extraordinary in its form. The oval marble base features bold, contrasting veins. Flanking it are charming bronze ducks, one standing and the other drinking water from a hollow in the stone. In the center, the marble has been carved into a basin or pond shape where the ducks can swim.
