14.4 x 8.2 cm; pp. 285, (3). Contemporary full leather binding, spine with raised bands and gilded ornaments and titles. Frontispiece illustrated in copperplate, depicting an allegorical scene with the laureate bust of Horace. Endpapers browned, as usual for the period; slight signs of wear to the binding (abrasions, nicks at the margins), overall a genuine and well-preserved specimen.

Seventeenth-century edition of the works of Q. Horatius Flaccus, accompanied by an apparatus of commentary and critical notes, intended for humanistic study and classical teaching. Printed in Amsterdam in 1682 by the famous Janssonio-Waesbergios, renowned Dutch publishers of the seventeenth century, celebrated for the typographic quality of classical editions.
