Handsome copy with 75 stunning colour plates The book is beautifully designed and colourfully illustrated with coloured frontispiece, and 74 captioned tissue-guarded fine colour plates. Published by Adam and Charles Black, London, 1912. Publisher’s original decorative blue cloth board with the design of a lotus flower on the front board and on spine. Spine lettered in gilt. Top page edges gilt. . Book Dimensions: 23 x 17 x 4 cm and Number of Pages: 246 + 2 pages of Author’s books. Condition Handsome copy. External covers in nice shape with light wear to corners and spine ends, and few faded marks too rare cover. Internally the book is in very good condition. Old inscription with neat ink on top first blank front free endpaper page. Foxing marks to some pages and page edges. The text and plates are clean and bright (Please see pictures). Robert Talbot Kelly Robert George Talbot Kelly (1861–1934) was an English orientalist landscape and genre painter, author and illustrator. Kelly was born in Birkenhead, Cheshire, the son of Irish landscape artist Robert George Kelly. He left school in 1876 to take up work in a firm of cotton traders, but was also taught art by his father, exhibiting under the name R. G.
