Ihagee 1b + Pentacon 1,8/50mm | Analogue camera

This is an Ihagee Exa 1b, an evolved version of the Exa 1a produced by Ihagee Dresden (DDR) between 1977 and 1985, with Exakta VX bayonet mount.

It houses here the Pentacon Auto 50mm f/1.8 “multi coating”, a standard 6-element/4-group optic with multiple coatings to reduce flare and increase contrast, automatic 6-blade diaphragm, minimum focusing distance 0.33 m, and a weight of only 194 g.

The Exa 1b body is fully mechanical with a vertical-travel shutter (1/30–1/175s + B), interchangeable viewfinder, and a short-throw advance lever, for a weight of 595 g with prism.

Perfect for vintage portraits or street rhythm thanks to the creamy bokeh and the glowy rendering of the Oreston/Pentacon at full aperture, still appreciated on modern mirrorless cameras with an Exakta-EF adapter.
