Commemorative coin in proof finish dedicated to the Turkmen poet Makhtumkuli, issued in the last year of the Soviet Union. The obverse features the state emblem of the Soviet Union with the hammer and sickle on the globe, surrounded by sheaves of wheat and topped by a star, accompanied by the denomination 1 Ruble and the date. The reverse shows a profile portrait of the poet, in a realist style with excellent modeling of the hair and beard, accompanied by his name in Cyrillic characters and the dates 1733–1798. The piece exhibits deep mirrored fields and heavily frosted reliefs, producing a very marked DCAM contrast. Virtually perfect condition, with pristine surfaces and extraordinary visual presence in line with its very high grade.
