Isaac Kniakov, Mickey in Fuchsia Silence, a 12 × 18 inch giclée on premium canvas, edition 1/10 from 2020 or later, signed and framed, originating from France and depicting a surreal pop-culture figure in a symmetric marine scene, with a signed certificate of authenticity.
Description from the seller
In Mickey in Fuchsia Silence, the artist offers a surreal reinterpretation of a figure emblematic of the collective imagination, transposed into a contemplative and enigmatic atmosphere.
The character appears standing, at the center of a perfectly symmetrical composition, facing a silent seascape. Its eyes are delicately covered with fuchsia butterflies, suspended like a living veil. This visual gesture transforms the familiar icon into an introspective presence, almost metaphysical, where vision gives way to intuition.
The influence of surrealism here dialogues with a hyperrealist execution inspired by classic oil painting. The precision of textures, the depth of the sky, and the meticulous handling of volumes give the work an almost tangible dimension, reinforcing the contrast between popular innocence and symbolic mystery.
The butterflies, vibrant shards at the heart of a controlled palette, introduce a strong chromatic tension: fuchsia becomes a central element, both fragile and powerful, suggesting transformation, inner silence, and a voluntary loss of sight.
With Mickey in Fuchsia Silence, the artist questions the relation between visibility and identity: what becomes of an icon when it is deprived of its gaze, and confronted with the vast, calm ocean?
Limited edition of 10 copies – image offered: 1/10.
Each print is numbered and signed. The edition will be definitively closed after the tenth copy.
