Description from the seller
Antique Bronze Casket / Relic Box - in the style of Erhard & Söhne – Jugendstil – Germany, ca. 1900 – In excellent condition – No reserve.
This piece is executed in true Jugendstil / Art Nouveau style, characterised by flowing organic lines, floral scrollwork and sculptural repoussé decoration. All sides are elaborately adorned with high-relief botanical motifs, demonstrating the technical mastery.
These bronze coffers were used both as luxurious jewelry boxes and as religious relic boxes, intended to store devotional objects or precious keepsakes. Around 1900, objects of this type were highly fashionable in Central European bourgeois interiors and ecclesiastical contexts.
The weight of 1.35 kg underlines its solid, high-quality bronze construction. The warm patina enhances the depth of the relief decoration and confirms its authentic age.

A decorative central carrying handle
Finely detailed repoussé panels
Elegant shaped feet
