Description from the seller

Exquisite wall lamp "Palazzo" by J.T. Kalmar for Kalmar Werkstätten

For sale is an authentic wall light from the renowned Austrian designer Julius Theodor (J. T.) Kalmar (1884–1968), manufactured by Kalmar Werkstätten (Kalmar Franken KG). This piece is an outstanding example of luxurious Viennese Mid-Century Modern design from the 1970s.

Design & Materials:
The lamp comes from the iconic "Palazzo" series and impresses with the combination of a high-quality gilded brass frame and spectacular glass elements. The illumination is realized by faceted, crystal-clear prism rods that elegantly refract and scatter the light. These glass rods can be removed individually for cleaning or maintenance (the gold screw can be loosened).

Condition & Functionality:
The brass and the prism rods are in their original state. The lamp is fully functional and ready for installation.

Artistic Value & Provenance:
Kalmar, once a pupil of Josef Hoffmann at the Vienna University of Applied Arts, created the "Palazzo" series, an iconic design now highly valued by collectors worldwide. The manufacturer’s lamps are found in prominent venues such as the Vienna State Opera or Burj Khalifa. Objects from this specific series consistently fetch high prices at international auctions.
