Two copper antique pots from France, dating to circa 1750–1800, the first at 19 cm high and 29 cm in diameter (2.8 kg) and the second at 24 cm high and 37 cm high with handle (2.1 kg), in good condition with minor signs of age.
Description from the seller
Gorgeous, rustic pots or kettles. The pots can be displayed decoratively with, for example, some firewood, or used as (hanging) cachepots. The pots are handmade by copper smiths. It is remarkable to think that food was prepared in this kind of pot. The handles and the fittings on the pots are made of beautiful wrought ironwork. In the large copper pot (the one on the left in the photo), the bottom has become somewhat domed as a result of the heat from the cooking fire. If you find this bothersome, you can put something heavy in the pot; this will make the pot stand upright again. The handle of this pot has a hole for a hook to hang it. The thick red copper has a very attractive appearance. This pot is in good condition. A small hole at a forged seam on the side. 19 cm high 40 cm high with handle 29 cm diameter.
The tall pot (a milk can?) is made of copper or copper-plated iron. This pot has damage along the top rim and at a mounting point of the handle. Nevertheless in very attractive condition! 24 cm high 37 cm high with handle 2100 grams
The pots are carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
