He studied art in Copenhagen (M. Anderson School) and then continued his studies in Paris, at the École de la Grande Chaumière.
Very early interested in drawing, painting and the representation of the natural world. Passionate about the sea and marine life, he often depicted fish, marine scenes or compositions influenced by the marine environment.
Life in the United States
Nils Obel settled in the United States in 1980.
