Signed; Koichi Inakoshi - Paris 1989 - 1989

A stunning and lesser known Paris title by the famous Japanese photographer Koichi Inakoshi. A rare title in fine condition and as a signed copy. Softcover with obi, 24 x 18,3 cm, b&w photographs. Text in Japanese and English. Signed by Koichi Inakoshi in blue pencil. Includes a promotional postcard. Condition: very good to fine, cover and complete protected by a removable plastic sleeve. Inside clean and unmarked, no stains or foxing. "About Koichi Inakoshi's photographs of Paris. Photographing Paris is certainly a very difficult task today. It seems almost impossible to escape the obvious, the deja-vue, the postcard. You can just as well as walk right into the Louvre and take a picture of Mona Lisa's smile. It needs a stranger to uncover pages of Paris that haven't been turned, and it needs fresh eyes to see, and then to capture on film, the unexpected. Koichi Inakoshi set out to do just that, and he looked for Paris in the reflections and the refractions, in the shadowy corners and in the nooks and crannies. He caught these moments that usually pass unperceived, those images that you see in the corner of your eyes and that have already gone before they reach your consciousness. His photographs don't spell "Paris" in capital letters, but they have the smell of Paris. They are fleeting glances, without being hasty. Like all good photographs they teach you to see, or at least, they help you to see better. Inakoshi has, in fact, re-discovered Paris." (from the book's introduction)
