Description from the seller

Extremely Rare & Very large Vidocq page by Gérald Forton - impossible to find.

The page measures a whopping 60 x 42 cm, is not in perfect condition (duh...), but fairly good given it is almost 71 years old.
A small portion from the bottom is missing (not in the artwork) - a bit more serious is the folding along the width; at the sides it is a bit torn, a few cm into the artwork. I think both sides, but one side has been repaired from the back. In general good condition; the tear is straight and easy to repair; the fold is not very visible.

The page is colored on the backside.

Gérald Forton only drew two short comic stories featuring Vidocq in 1955 for the magazine Spirou. These were part of the long-running historical educational series Les Belles Histoires de l'Oncle Paul.

"La Rédemption de Vidocq" (The Redemption of Vidocq): Published in issue #882 on March 10, 1955.
"Le Père de la police moderne" (The Father of Modern Police): Published in issue #883 on March 17, 1955.

I don't know which story this page is from.

If you want to complete your Forton and/or Vidocq collection; this might be your only opportunity; I only have 1 of these....
